Diabetes Nonprofit Organization is currently providing, through a grant of the TIMA Charitable Foundation, diagnostic examinations regarding diabetes mellitus.
The examinations will take place in over 25 Open Protections Centers for the Elderly (OPCEs) in Attica for 12 months. Apart from the medical examinations, the organization will raise awareness for diabetes as informative lectures will also take place at the OPCEs by doctors who specialize in the disease. The specialist doctors will also address questions that seniors may have, not only regarding the disease but on topics such as proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle, other related issues. So far, Diabetes Nonprofit Organization has visited OPCEs in the Municipalities of Ilioupoli, Nea Smyrni, Papagos-Holargos, Galatsi, and Neo Irakleio. Until December 2017, more than 1500 seniors were examined.
