The program involves bringing together children and seniors on a regular weekly basis and through the framework of three topics, namely stories, games and personal experiences. Under the guidance of historians and educational personnel, elderly islanders had brought old photographs, toys, and objects that reminded them of their youth. They shared stories and narratives with children, who, in turn, had been prepared by educational personnel on how to ask pertinent questions and on how to attract and retain the interest of seniors. The narratives were recorded and upon returning to their schools, children listened to the stories and drew what they found most interesting. In particular, the members of the Nautical Club of Skopelos showed the children of the Skopelos Primary School how they constructed boats and gave them interesting details on sea professions. The program was deemed particularly successful, as the children themselves sought out to meet with seniors, and teachers expressed interest in order to repeat the workshops. In total, 117 seniors from the 4 islands took part in the workshops, along with 172 children.
