Irida focuses on protecting, empowering, and supporting the most socially and economically vulnerable women, helping them become active members of society and achieve their goals and aspirations. As the first and only safe community space for women in Northern Greece, Irida provides the necessary support for women to overcome challenges, find solutions, and create lasting positive change.
Program for psychosocial support for women aged 55-85 years
The grant regards the creation of a program to support women aged 55-85 who face various challenges, such as severe socio-economic vulnerabilities, are potentially victims of gender-based violence, suffer from physical or mental health conditions, and are single women and/or lack any networks of support. Through this program 100 women between the ages of 55-85 will be assisted with: a) the provision of essential social services, including access to medication, medical care, mental health support, and non-food necessities; b) the provision of psychological support and community-building activities so as to ensure these women’s well-being and enhance their sense of fulfillment and confidence.
