The purpose of the Association is the contribution to the study of issues relating to ageing, the prevention of premature ageing, the promotion of education and awareness-raising for the best possible life for the elderly. The Association offers a number of activities, such as: socio-medical events, seminars, teaching clinics for doctors in Southwestern Greece, Geriatric Summer Schools throughout Greece, awareness-raising seminars directed to the public, and research programs. In addition to this, the Association runs an Alzheimer’s and Related Diseases Day Center for persons with dementia with a Social Worker, Psychologist, and Nurse, as well as At Home Care Services. Moreover, the Association participates in various programs with government funding and in a research program by the University of Patras.

The grant regards the replacement of the windows of the Alzheimer’s and Related Diseases Day Center building. In 2016, almost 300 persons with dementia and their caregivers participated in a plethora of creative activities and received social and psychological support there. Upgrading the building by replacing the windows will make it more energetically efficient and therefore will also lower the operating expenses of the organization.
