Charity Crafts Workshop Program

The Nea Ionia Panagia Eleousa and Nea Filadelfeia Kalos Samareitis Care Homes were founded in 1975 and 1974 respectively with the aim of providing shelter and care to the elderly residents of the surrounding region.

Both Care Homes are independent legal entities but fall under the supervision of the Metropolis of Nea Ionia and Nea Filadelfeia. Kalos Samaritis accommodates an estimated 37 seniors out of which 20 are bed-ridden whilst Panagia Eleousa accommodates up to 28 seniors.

Charity Crafts Workshop Program 

 

The grant regards a charity crafts workshop program that will be directed to all 65 residents of both care homes. Two occupational therapists will run the workshops whereby the residents will create various handicrafts that will be made available to charitable associations that support children in need. The charity crafts workshop will foster the senior participants’ sense of contribution through creativity and social interaction, benefitting their general well-being.
