The Ladies Union of Drama was founded in 1904 with the aim to provide goods and services to residents of Drama in need, as well as to vulnerable groups in the area. It also offers a hostel, psychological support, food supplies, distribution of clothes and other donated items. Furthermore, the Ladies Union of Drama provides financial aid to vulnerable persons for various purposes, including healthcare, utility bills and rent.
“Caring for the Elderly” Program
The grant regards the continuation of the “Caring for the Elderly” program, which was funded by TIMA in 2014, 2015, and 2018 with the addition of various new elements. Food supplies and hygiene products will be provided for 12 months to 75 families with one or two elderly family members. Additionally, the program will provide neuropsychological assessment by a neuropsychologist for those that need it. Moreover, the program will give beneficiaries the opportunity to follow classes and activities at the School of the Union. Some of the classes that will be offered are computer instruction, creative writing, and mental strengthening exercises for memory improvement.
