The organization provides care at home services to vulnerable individuals, and, in particular, to elderly persons. Frontida sto Spiti implements the EFKA (National Social Insurance Fund) program for the Irakleio Prefecture – the 100 beneficiaries of the program need to meet specific criteria such as a high disability percentage, low annual income, and living alone/in isolated conditions. These beneficiaries receive a variety of care at home services, such as nursing, psychosocial support, physical therapy, and at-home cleaning and housekeeping assistance. Additionally, Frontida sto Spiti implements other programs that provide nursing support, pharmaceutical support, and social benefit services to other vulnerable individuals.

The grant regards a 14-month care at home program for 50 vulnerable seniors in the Prefecture of Irakleio who are not currently in the EFKA program. The program will provide a variety of nursing and palliative care services; counseling regarding welfare and insurance matters; assistance with home hygiene and meal preparation. The program will also include awareness-raising, with a social media and press campaign throughout the year. A presentation at the end of the year will put forward the results of the program to the public. The 50 beneficiaries will be selected from 26 villages across the 8 Municipalities of Irakleio Prefecture.
