MDA has created and equipped 3 Neuromuscular Disorders Units in public hospitals of Athens, Thessaloniki and Patra. These Special Units include a group of specialties that jointly address the health issues of people with neuromuscular disorders. MDA also operates the “Home”; a place for the education, entertainment and training of people with neuromuscular disorders. Some specialized services offered at the Home are psychological support, social care and therapeutic physical activity. MDA offers its services to approximately 1,000 patients around Greece out of which 150 visit the Home on a frequent basis. Furthermore, MDA is active in the fields of research, prevention and awareness of neuromuscular disorders.

The grant regards the provision of psychosocial support and therapeutic physical activity to persons with neuromuscular disorders, including elders for 12 months.
