The Children and Adults Mental Health Community Services Development Federation “Panacea” was founded in Rhodes in 2003 with the aim to offer support to the mentally disabled. Panacea operates 4 programs: a hostel, an apartment, a day center for the mentally disabled, and a day center for Alzheimer’s patients.
Program Support & Vehicle
The grant regards the support of an educational program and the purchase of a vehicle. The educational program “Learning about Alzheimer’s Disease: Why Doesn’t my Grandmother Remember my Name?” is taught in elementary schools of Rhodes and other islands in the Dodecanese. The aim of the program is to educate children about Alzheimer’s disease and to engage the younger generation in creative activities with elders suffering from the disease in order to strengthen their mental condition. The vehicle will be used for the transfer of the mentally disabled to and from the hostel, the apartment and the day center.
