Program of Support for Vulnerable Persons
The grant regards a program to support vulnerable persons, primarily elderly low-income pensioners, including recent earthquake victims, through a range of essential services. These include: a) Food Distribution: The provision of monthly food packages; b) Social Grocery Store: This facility offers daily necessities including cleaning products, personal hygiene items, bed linens, blankets, and quilts, ensuring beneficiaries have access to basic living supplies; c) Social Pharmacy and Clinic: Following earthquake damage, the social pharmacy and clinic have operated intermittently. A new facility is under construction, and collaboration with the Periphery of Crete aims to offer weekly medical services with various specialties and free examinations. An average of 800 individuals will be supported each month for the duration of this grant.
