Co2Gether, through a Points of Support grant, of the TIMA Charitable Foundation, implemented a new program in 2022-2023. They created Greece’s first online platform for matching donations of new and lightly used health-related equipment with those who need it. Co2Gether collected the equipment and repaired with the help of vulnerable groups who were trained in the maintenance. The equipment was then distributed for free to 90 vulnerable elderly living at home or in other health and social welfare organizations. The platform is based on an innovative model by envieautonomie .
Currently, Co2Gether through another TIMA grant, is continuing its work with the online platform by continuing to offer health-related equipment to at least 150 elderly persons in need, across Western Greece and other regions. Their aim is to meet the equipment needs of care homes and other social welfare organizations that provide care services to older people, mainly in remote areas of the province. At least 20 social welfare organizations will receive equipment. Co2Gether will receive and store the equipment, through transfers from France, over a period of 12 months. Additionally, they will develop educational material and provide training to elderly recipients and caregivers. This includes using the equipment safely and relevant topics such as safe mobility and transfer of seniors with health issues, CPR-related skills, and more.
