Among its many activities, ActionAid Hellas implements a series of awareness-raising campaigns and educational programs in Greece, with the goal of sensitizing society on matters of poverty, social exclusion and racism. In 2015, ActionAid Hellas started implementing programs for refugees and more recently, the Epikentro Community Center. Epikentro offers a variety of social services to both adults and children. These services include psychosocial support, legal advisory, employment placement, capacity-building, and learning of new skills. The vision is for the Center to function at the core of the local community and offer innovative services. The ultimate goal is to empower the most vulnerable social groups so that they can face the multiple challenges resulting from the economic crisis.
